I think of literacy as my primary form of communication, not as a class I used to take in high school or elementary school.  I'd like us all to think of it this way because then it's not about making a good grade or about only some kids getting a chance to learn.  It's about writing our own furtures, instead of hearing the others' ideas.  It's an inalienable human right** not a privilege to be earned.  -- DJ Savarese
